Chairman Skip Brion said decades of solid management is key to victory

WEST CHESTER _ The voters of Chester County on Tuesday overwhelmingly supported the Republican candidates to continue to govern the county.

Chester County is one of the best-run governments in the nation,” said Republican Committee of Chester County Chairman Skip Brion. “Chester County is one area of the nation where the government is efficient and where voters get the best possible value for their tax dollar.”

The Republican candidates for Chester County row offices were all experienced and qualified, according to Brion. “I congratulate Treasurer Ann Duke, Controller Val DiGiorgio, Clerk of Courts Frank McElwaine, Coroner Dr. Steve Dickter and Jury Commissioner Mimi Sack on their victories. I also want to congratulate all of the other Republican candidates in yesterday’s races as they ran hard and were a credit to the county. The voters should be commended for retaining Judge William Mahon and Judge Robert Shenkin.”

Chester County voters also supported state-wide judicial candidates, including Republican Supreme Court Judge candidate Joan Orie Melvin and Chester County’s Judge Paula Ott. Judge Ott won her race for a seat on the Pennsylvania Superior Court and Judge Melvin won her important race for the Supreme Court.

“I also want to thank the voters of Chester County for their faith in the Republican leadership. Our elected officials will continue to provide the best possible leadership. Those failing Democratic administrations in Washington and Harrisburg could learn some lessons from the elected Republican leaders in Chester County.”
