Pennsylvania GOP Delegation Nominates Guy Ciarrocchi to Stimulus Oversight Commission

Washington–  Congressmen Joe Pitts (PA-16) and Jim Gerlach (PA-06) announced today the nomination of Guy Ciarrocchi as the Pennsylvania House Republican Delegation’s representative to the Commonwealth’s Stimulus Oversight Commission. Ciarrocchi’s experience includes time spent as a chief of staff in the Pennsylvania Senate, as a regional administrator in the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and as a chief of staff for Congressman Gerlach.

Congressman Pitts’ statement follows:

“Guy’s experience and dedication to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will serve him well on this very important commission.  I know Guy will be an advocate for the taxpayer.  Ensuring this money is spent correctly should be a very high priority, and I’m pleased to put Guy forward as the nomination from the Pennsylvania House Republican delegation.”

Congressman Gerlach’s statement follows:

“Guy’s experience at all levels of government will be extremely valuable to the commission and all taxpayers. I am pleased to join my colleagues in nominating Guy to this position because he understands the importance of ensuring that every penny of this colossal spending package is spent properly and that taxpayers receive the maximum benefit.”

Dear Governor Rendell:

We are pleased to inform you that we have agreed to nominate Mr. Guy Ciarrocchi, Esq. to be the U.S. House Pennsylvania Republican Delegation’s representative on the Commonwealth’s Stimulus Oversight Commission. 

Mr. Ciarrocchi’s experience in the Pennsylvania Senate, as a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Regional Administrator, and as a Chief of Staff for a U.S. Representative gives him ample knowledge of and perspective on federal and state programs and proven ability to oversee spending decisions.

We continue to hope this Commission will offer substantive findings and recommendations to state and federal officials and legislators on how to improve, consolidate, or eliminate state or federal programs as necessary and otherwise make such programs more effective and make government more efficient.
