STATE HOUSE 158TH DISTRICT
State Representative Eric Mark Roe is a firm believer in the free market and a reduced size of government. Over the past two years, Eric has fought for a stronger economy and more jobs, and that starts with lower taxes for families, seniors and employers. A core function of state government is providing education. Eric successfully fought for record high investments in education to ensure our schools and students have the resources they need to succeed while making quality and accountability high priorities. Finally, Eric will continue to work with our law enforcement professionals to address the 21st Century safety and security issue we face.
He holds a B.A. from American University in Washington, DC, where he studied political science as an undergraduate, and he later earned his M.Sc. in public policy from University College London. A student of history, Eric has also studied the public and personal lives of the American founding fathers during a resident fellowship at the John Jay Institute in Philadelphia in 2014.
Eric Roe has the right mix of public service, private sector and non-profit experience. He previously served as the Administrative Analyst for Chester County Commissioner Michelle Kichline. Prior to that, Eric worked as Special Assistant at The Chertoff Group, a homeland security consulting firm led by former Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Michael Chertoff. He also worked for various non-profits focused on issues like preserving the free market economy and promoting fiscal responsibility in government.
Dedicated to our community, Eric has served numerous non-profit organizations here in Chester County. He was on the Board of Directors of the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County and volunteered as a Citizenship Teacher for La Comunidad Hispana as well as a volunteer for Chester County Women’s Services. Fluent in Spanish and French, Eric has gone abroad on multiple mission trips, including to Haiti, Mexico, Dominican Republic and China teaching English and serving as an interpreter.
At the core of his ambition is the desire to see Pennsylvania become the most family-friendly, business-friendly state in the nation someday. Eric’s rich professional, academic and personal experiences have shaped this achievable goal, and he will continue to use the office of State Representative to further that mission. Eric and his wife, Alice, live in Eric’s hometown of West Chester, Pennsylvania.
