As a Graduate of Penn State University, majoring in Political Science, Michael has been involved with many different organizations as a board member and as a leader for his community. In addition to his degree, Michael took six upper level business courses to learn more about the macro level aspects of the American economy.
In 2019, Michael was the Fundraising Outreach Co-Chairman for his Penn State organization called FOTO which is a sub-branch organization under THON, a student run philanthropy at Penn State. As the fundraising outreach Co-Chairman, Michael led 30 volunteers in raising $36,000 in six months for families struggling with Pediatric Cancer payments. At the end of six months, THON’s main event took place in the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State where he and his other board members stood for 42 out of 47 straight hours to raise awareness for Pediatric Cancer. During college, Michael also gave his blood plasma twice a week to donation centers.
In his high school years, Michael was picked with 3 others to represent his church youth group by attending the National Catholic Youth Conference held in the Indianapolis Colt’s stadium in Indiana.
Michael also started his own branch of a youth group called Conquest which would hold weekly meetings, organize monthly summer camps for children, hold can drives for the local soup kitchen, and lead late night runs to Philadelphia to give out clothing to the less fortunate.
These volunteered positions valued teamwork and a tremendous amount of dedication to each cause. As a board member he learned different interpersonal skills, incorporated his management abilities, spoke publicly in front of 30 people weekly, and learned how to properly execute fundraising events for future board members and their volunteers. These team based initiatives were something remarkable that he will never forget and helped him to understand the bigger picture in life.
Michael has had a job since he was 15 years old. Not one summer went by where he wasn’t working. On top of this, Michael has played seven different sports competitively. He has managed being on multiple teams at once and was a multi-year state champion as a pitcher in baseball.
Michael is currently 23 years old, owns four golden retrievers, and enjoys spending his leisure time riding his motorcycle.
